The 2015 release of the Apple Watch poses a huge threat to other Watch Companies such as Fossil who manufacture watches for some of the biggest designer fashion brands available including Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Burberry and Armani.
Whilst consumers eagerly await the launch of the high-tech Apple Watch in early 2015, other watch companies such as Fossil are becoming increasingly concerned about their core business.
The Apple range consists of three collections: Apple Watch, Apple Sport and Apple Watch Edition and is a perfect expression of the advancing relationship people have with technology. It is the "most personal" item Apple have ever designed and is the first designed to be worn. With three equally distintictive collections, there should be no problem finding the watch that is perfect for you.
The Apple Watch combines a series of impressive engeering technicalities into a singular, entirely new experience. The signature crown has been a standard feature on a watch for over a century but the new Digital Crown is a multifunctional device that lets you zoom, scroll and select without covering the screen. The 'home' screen lets you quickly find your favourite apps whilst the custom selected font is easy to read from arm's length. It is sounding very much like one incredible device!
Concerns have been raised by companies selling traditional timepieces in the same price range, such as The Fossil Group. An analyst wrote "Future innovation at Fossil...will largely be challenged by hype and innovative offerings from deep pocket technology-credible competitors such as Apple, Samsung and Motorola."
Without question, the Apple Watch will provide consumers with every watch style you could buy with its various straps and faces plus an Apple ecosystem which offers an impressive list of functionality that goes far beyond the classic timepiece including access to payment functions, texts and social networks.
Personally, I am intrigued to see these phenomenal technological devices!
